Walk on Alberta is an ongoing project started in 2013 where I make almost daily photographs of my gentrifying neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. My practice within this project is a documentary-style photography with minimal processing, and no personal manipulation of the objects in my frame. Nothing is staged, or produced. I try to view and photograph the natural movements of the subjects and objects in my urban landscape and street photography with that feeling of wonder I have when I first land in a foreign place. I’m drawn to the demographic, ecological, and sociological layers that make-up large cities. My photos attempt to represent the crowded frames of urban life by including the situational details of place in the photographs I make.
